This is the way to experience Chief’s Island in the Okavango Delta. On foot with a guide who knows the area like the back of his hand. There are certain sections of the island where swimming is possible. If it is safe, and the water levels are low, guides will take you for a dip in the pristine waters.
The traditional dug-out wooden canoe utilised especially in the Okavango Delta. Silently gliding through the waterways, guides take guests closer to nature and to the wildlife in the Delta than ever before. Guests can indulge in mokoro trips, boating, fishing and walking safaris.
Guides will take you to an exquisite set-up on the sandy banks of the island to celebrate golden hour. The island in the Okavango is full of tall, leafy trees, which of course are home to a fantastic array of bird species, and when the marula trees are in fruit, there are a couple of elephants that make their way across the waterways and onto the island to feed between the tents.
A visit to the local Xaxaba village is one of the activities guests can enjoy.
